Customizing the mouthguard. (Caution! Boiling water can be dangerous):
Boil water and let it cool for about 30 seconds before placing the adult mouthguard in the water for 70 seconds (30 seconds for the child's mouthguard).
Using a spoon, remove the mouthguard from the water and shake off excess water. As quickly as possible, place the mouthguard on the upper teeth (it will be hot).
Once the upper teeth are centered, gently bite down and remove excess air from the mouthguard using your tongue. You can use your fingers to adjust the mouthguard into place.
Keep the mouthguard in your mouth for 30 seconds, then remove and rinse under cold water.
If the mouthguard does not fit perfectly, repeat the process until it fits optimally.
If the mouthguard is too large, you can trim the excess with a knife.
