Seba is back with a revamped Seba GT boot. Despite its name reminding us of the original Seba High model, it is an entirely different skate.
Experienced skaters may remember when Seba brand attempted to enter the fitness skate market with their GTX models. Although they weren't very popular, they were still decent skates. However, it seemed like the brand chose the wrong time to introduce them, as premium fitness skates weren't in high demand at that time.
The question arises: who are the Seba GT skates for? The best answer is that they are designed for skaters who want equipment that blurs the line between fitness and freestyle, without compromising on comfort. The closest competitor to these skates would be the Powerslide Swell skates.
Although the base is the same as the Seba High Light skates, the two models have different fits. The focus is more on comfort and lower weight for the GT, at the expense of some performance. This makes the GT skates the most comfortable option straight out of the box in Seba's lineup. The integrated padding is still anatomically shaped, but the foams have different thicknesses and densities. There are also some elements that remind us of the freestyle origins of these skates, such as the protective strip at the front.
The upper part of the skate is made of softer material compared to the High Light skates, which allows for better moisture expulsion. The cuff also features a more minimalist design while still providing the necessary support for fitness skating. The skates come with a 45-degree strap, making them easier to put on and improving their appearance. It's important to note that you can replace the strap with a Seba High buckle if you prefer a more rigid feel.
The frame used in the GT 80 model is the well-known X2R frame with rockerable outer axles, giving you the option to make the skates more maneuverable. You can even try some freestyle slalom with these skates! The frame accommodates four 80mm wheels, making the skates agile, easy to handle, and highly versatile.
